Atlantis, a popular web-based hotel software in the Philippines growing in popularity across Asia, is the first suite of Atlantis’s line of hotel products to be integrated with GHL Systems’s secure internet payment solution.

Asia is seeing an exponential growth of local Internet users making online payments for goods and services particularly in the travel and tourism industry.

“With travellers becoming more savvy and online payments more secure, it’s imperative that we (Atlantis) as service providers to the industry, be the forefront runners of these technologies that not only brings convenience to the user, but allows secure transactions through multiple channels. When asked about how big of the impact it will be to non-individual bookings such as travel agencies or corporations that are not able to use these payment facilities, Mr. Santos noted that financial institutions across Asia are beginning to introduce direct debit options to corporations, as part of their initiative to go paperless.

Mr. Santos also noted that Atlantis will work to be the first hotel software solutions company to offer corporate direct debit payments when they are made available through local financial institutions in each country that they serve, which includes Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and soon to be Thailand.

“Additionally, in the near future, we are also looking into introducing other digital payment methods that are quickly gaining popularity such as WeChat Pay, AliPay, UnionPay and the cryptocurrency Bitcoin.”

“Atlantis envisions the future of hotel reservation to be as simple as ‘sending a text message’,” he continued. “And we will work to ensure that Atlantis is one of the pioneers in helping bridge the gap between convenience and security of payments from both the traveller and accommodation provider.”
